J ITS EFFECT AT THE ISLANDS, (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Jan. 5. ' The Manapori, from the Islands, 1 experienced the full force of the hmnicanq. At Vavau the damage a- • shpre is considerable. With few ex--1 captions, cutters and boats were ' stunk, and all tho traders' jetties on the foreshore demolished. Trees wore uprooted and there has been extensive loss of fruit and nuts, vines * and cuttings. The station at Manuku was wrecked, and copra store damaged* Though there has been 1 much temporary loss it will be small compared with the hurricane of 1000.
