In addition £11,500 had been spent on new plant. The result of th» first year's working under tho Borough paid interest at thi rate of per cent, provided a sinking fund of 2 per oent, and a surplus of £2534, whib better light and improved street lighting were provided. The gross earnings for the year exceeds the company's previous yew by £1562 and this in the face of an increassd price of coal. The cike production exceeds the company's yearly output by £7OO, due entirely to the modern plant adopted.
