The Tarauaki Rifles paraded on Monv day nigh', when then* was a good muster uuder Lieutenant Hooker. A fresh election fur officers was held, when Lieutenant Weston was unanimously' elocted captan, and Colour-Sergeant Okey stemd lieutsuant, .< It is the ioti-n'ion of the local Volunteer corps, Garrison Baod, and the Rifle Club to tender a suitable send-off to Celour-Serge&nt Okey, of the Taranaki Rifles, prior to his leaving {or England with the Bisley rifle team. Committees from these will meet at the Drill Hill to-morrow evening to arrange details. The final competition for the New Zealand Clothing Factory's clock will be fired by the, Rifles on Thursday next. Shooting will commence a* ] ,30 o'clock. Tbe match Taranaki Rifles v. balance Battalion will be fired at Hawera on Thu'sday week next, April 17th. All tli t Rifle* team are requested to b* present for practice at Frankley-road on Thursday next.
