A search revealed the fact that the man had left a bag outside in which ] wtTii found a pair of prison trousers,' so that it is assumed the would-be thief 1 was the chciped prisoner McDonald. Owing t.> be ng disturbe !. and to his hurried r t t eat, he does not nppe»r to have apprcpiiated much of Mr Hughson's property. The police are now endeavouring to track the mas, and a good look out is being kept.
