WELLINGTON A.A.O. MEETING. PER PBE3S ASSOCIATION. Wellington, December 7. j The Wellington Amateur Athletic , Club had fine weather for its meeting \ this afternoon. A strong breeze blew across the ground, and prevented any , standard records DiiDg broken, W. F. Pollock (scratch) beat A. S. Henderson (scratch) by reven yards in the half-mile, which was run in 2min ' lOsec. The latter (fivn yards behind) bßat 0. Gore (15 yards behind) by a few inches in the 120 Yards Hurdles, in 19 2-ssec. L. B. Webster (scratch) ran second in his heat of the 120 Yards Handicap, but was unplaced in the final. Webster and Pollock met in the final of th® 220 yards, when Webster, who eased up in the straight, won in 23 4 ssec,, a tick outside the standard. Pollock finished third. Both ran unplaced in the 440 yards, which was won by J. W. o'Kane(2s yards), a St. Patrick's College boy. O'Kane's time was 53 l-saec. George Murdock

Both intend to make the journey. Twenty-one members of the Wellington Cycling Club competed in the hill-climbing competition this afternoon, from Kaiwarrawarra to the top of Crofton hill, a distance of about one mile and a half. The first four were F. Nattraes, scr, snin 51sac; H. Westbury, Bsec, 6min 26sec; Williamson, 45sec, and A. Minogue, 80sec, 6mim 52sec. HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS. The annual sports in connection with the High School were held at the school grounds on Saturday. The day was beautifully fine, and there was a very fair attendance of parents and friends of the scholars, and all manifested a keen interest in the various events, Amongst: those present were Messrs N. K. MacDiarmid (chairman), W. Bewley (secretary), and D. Berry (member) of the High School Board of Governor*., who rendered valuable assistance to the principal, Mr E. Prid- i ham, and assistant master, Mr H. Ward, in carrying oui the details connected with the prompt dispatch the various ev»nts. Afternoon tea was thoughtfully provided by the girls at present attending tho school, and much appreciated by all, The events throughout were pratty evenly con'osted, several dead-heats occurring, thus upholding the justice of Mr Ward's handicapping. Messrs Pridham, MacDiarmid, and Bewley aoted as judges, and Mr Ward as starter. The results were as follows: {
