TARANAKI AGRICULTURAL SHOW.

The Metropolitan Show which is to be held on Thursday will, so far at least as arrangement of exhibits is concerned, bo vastly superior to any of its predecessors. A totally new scheme has been devised and carried whereby the whole show will be centralised. The cattle and sheep pens have been removed from the old r oi ner and erected j in a line facing the show ring, over 100 lof thesrt pans being put up. The irn- j Iplementa and other ixhibitß will be' contiguous, while the dairy produce will be displayed in a marquee instead of under the grandstand as heretofore. A Daily News representative visited the Show ground on Tuesday afternoon and found the arrangements in a forward st»te. The advantage of the new departure was apparent at a glance, its institution reflecting much credit on the executive, and there is no doubt that it will meet with the appreciation of the public. Mr H. Okry, who takes a very keen and active interest in promoting the success of the Show, was very busy in supervising the new arrangements, which have entailed not only much care and forethought, but considerable expense. Already there are a goodly number of agricultural implements on the ground, and to-day many more are to arrive. According to present expectations, the Show bids fair to be a record success, and the numerous exhibits well wor'b inspecting. Everything is being done to promote, as far as pcwtible, the con-v«ni-;nce and enjoyment of visitors, and should the weather be favourable, a large crowd may be expected to be present,
