RAILWAY SERVRNTS CLASSIFICATION

G, Ward arrived f.om Dunediu by express train on Satuiday, and after mooting a deputation »biut railway arrangements for the Royal Vis't, was present for a short time at a smoke concert of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, delivering an addnss, in which he announced thnt during the coming session it was the iuteaiion of the Government to bring in an amended classification bill, not being satfsfied with the presant classificition which did not go far enough. The Government would endeavour to mike better p-'ovision for recognition of services than now oxii-ted, and to which they wtrd entitled.
