— i —• P»E PRESS ASSOCIATION. Auckland, Jure 1. This morning a small building at Wade, formally occupied by Messrs B.unton Bros, was totally gutted byl fire. More recently the building was used as a store room for gum by Messrs Thomas Lees and Sonp, and there were about 700 sacks of gum in it, which were only insured for £3OO. A supposed attempt of incendarism was made at 11 o'clock last night; but failed, the flames being discovered in time and prevented from extending to adj ic:nt buildings. The po'ice are investigating the matter. [This triegram does not say where the fire occurred ]
