IMPUDENT FRAUDS.
FIB PMSS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, April 19. James Herbert Evans was charged at the Police Court this morning with a series of impudent frauds. According to the statement of the police he repve sented himself as the brother of a wellknown Government officer »nd obttined a blank cheque from a B.nk official, filled it in for a certain sum, and with this and five guineas cash opened a Bank account on which he drew to the extent of £260, victimising a num beref local tradesmen by purchosing articles in exchange for cheques. He pleadtd guilty :>nd w,s reminded f»r sentence till to-morrow.
