It should be possible to commence this service as soon as the Kamona, lately purchased from Home, arrives in Tasmania, not later than six weeks from now. As regards the New South Wales trade, to give a regular service from Oamaru and Timaru to Sydney would not be profitable, but it is intended, in order to test the business, from now on until June, to run at least two steamers between Sydney, Newcastle, and Southern ports of New Zealand, After June there may only be one probably the Whangape. The s.s. Kumara will lfave Wellington with dairy fTodace on April 11th. The closing day at tho Works being Thursday, the *th April, 1901, at 2 p.m.
