[PUB PBSBS ABSOOUIIO*.] Wamhxui, March 15, The solo competitions concluded today with E flat horns. Ten competed, Wauganui men being first, second, and third, E. Gould, R. Blythe, and O. Jensen heiDg placed in that order. OITY BAKD PLA.OKD THIRD. Wanoanui, March 15. At the Band Contest the marching competition wan witnessed by a largo crowd. Rosult-i: - Wangnntii Garrison, music 76, msrchinr 288; total, 364. Wfodvill", music 66, marching 260; to'ill 335. Now Plymouth, muaio 66, marching 265; total, 331. Palmerston North, music 66, marohiag 259; to t a),325. Masterton, musio 74, marching, 248; total, 322. Petooe, must* 75, marching 244; total, 319. Theconrest was concluded to-night. The result of the championship is: —*anganui 375, M»sterton (disqualified) 855, Putone.3l7, New Plymouth 306, Palmers'.on 305, Wojdville 288. Altogether the contest was most successful.
