The first day's racing of the Wellington Club's Spring Meeting was carried out under most favourable circumstances, the weather being perfect, the attendance large, and the course in capital order. The running was of an exceptionally interesting character ,\nd the public witnessed several hard fought struggles. Down the straight to the 1 finish for the Wellington Handicap was * particularly exciting, the three 1 horses being locked together as they * pissed the post.
