EDUCATIONAL.

(PBB PBBSS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, November 11. At a meeting of the Wellington branch of the Educational Institute on Saturday. It was decided that the following proposals be submitted to a meeting of the Council of the Institute to be held here in January(l) That the Education Act be amended in the direction of allowing schools to be closed on every wet days at 1 p.m., such attendance to count as two half day's attendances. (2) That in the opinion of this branch, the retention and issue of pass certificates for standards tends to prevent that freedom of classification which is the aim and object of the new regulations; (3) That the amount of work in the syllabus should be reduced in accordance with the suggestions attaohed.
