[per press association. I (Received 16, 9.28 a.m.) Sydney, October 16. Annie Kent in a fit of insanity killed her infant by dashing its head against a table. Sir W. J. Lyne states that no attempt will be made to enforce a reduction in the number of members of the local Parliament consequent on Federation till after the general election. Melbourne, October 16. Parliament will be dissolved on Thursday, and the' election will take place on November Ist, j Adelaide, October 16. Instead of giviog the usual banquet on the Prince of Wales' Birthday, the Mayor will donate £IOO to the Children's Hospital.
