Bidding for all young cattle was keen, and nearly all this class sold at the hammer. 2-year steers and store cows also m»de excellent prices. Bidding for 18-months empty heifers, in moat cases, did not come up to vendors reserves, but they were all placed privately afterwards at satisfactory rates. BUOKLAND AND SONS' WEEKLY AUCTION REPORT, Auckland, October 5. Messrs. BucKLiND and Sons' Report Horses: We had a large attendance and many buyers, consequently a good sale at advanced prices. We quote: Heavy draughts, np to L4O; medium draughts, Ll9 to L3llos, according to age; useful farm horses, LIS to L 18; strong haoks and harness horses, LlO to Ll4; common sorts, L 4 to L 8; handsome weight-carrying hacks, L 25. Hay and Straw—A small quantity only was brought forward. Meadow hay was at very low prices.
