IMPORTATION OF STUD STOCK.
Mr. A. A. Fantham, a gentlemai who has always manifested the warmes' interest in stock breeding, has cer tainly accomplished a greac deal toward! improving the herds of New Zealand His efforts during his residence ii Taranaki have been as active in thii direction as they were in other parti of the colony, and he certainly deserve: the thanks of the district for his mosi recent achievement. A cablegram wan received from Hobart this week, stating that two purebred prize animals—a bull and a heifer—had arrived, and they are now on the way to Aucklaud, These animals were purchased in England, and further reference will be made to the stock when they arrive here.
