DONALD MACDONALD.
Donald Macdokald, the now famous war correspondentxeturned from South Africa, left Auckland yesterday after an exceptionally successful season there. He arrived in New Plymouth last evening by the Rotoiti, and gives two lectures here, to-night and Saturday night. It is not necessary for us to do more than remind our readers of his arrival, as the theme of his leetures is one that has stirred the British nation in a manner never before experienced in history the story of the seige of Lidysmith, the Lucknow of South Africa, told by one who has had actual personal experience of the joys and sorrows, the horrors and the tragedies of a seige that has become famous in the history of our Empire, bo rich in such heroic deeds, Mr. Macdonald is said to give a very thrilling and graphic description of the scenes through which he has passed, his realistic word-painting being positively blood-curdling in its vividness. That a full house will greet him this evening is assured.
