OAKURA.

(PKOM CUE OWN COIMESrONDBHT.) A dance was held in the hall on Friday night, and was a groat success, the room being comfortably filled, and the trustees' funds should be considerably enhanced. Mr. Oorkill made a good M.O. Mr. Good presided at the piano, and several ladies assisted. The refreshments were excellent and plentiful, and everyone teamed to enjoy themselves. The floor was in splendid order for dancing, which was kopt going until near three, when all returned home well pleased with their evening's enjoyment. The kinematagraph proprietors were hero on Monday, and showed some good views of the Boor war and others of an amusing nature, especially to the young people. I think that after (he Freezing Works meeting and the libsral manner they threw tho shareholders' money about, we cannot say auything against the Government using tho surplus in the way they are doing.
