—■* ANNUAL MEETING. [Piilt PItiJSS ASSOCIATION.] Wellikgton, August 17. The annual meotiug of tho Bank of Now Zealand was held to-day. The Chairman (Mr. Blair) referred to the increaso of deposits «s evidence not only of the general prosperity of tho community but also of the confidence that community, reposes in the Bank as the custodian of its funds. Tho outlook in regard to the Assets Realisation Board was clearing aud the end was fairly well in view. Viewing tho situation as a whole he thought shareholders were to bo congratulated on the position to which tho Bank had attained. Ho might now safely say that a dividend paying point was coming within measureible distance. Possibly in 1902 a dividend would bo paid. In reply to Mr. Kibble, who asked what amount would bo required to make good the deficiency that would ultimately arise upon the realisition of r /he Estates Go's assets Mr. Blair said it was difficult to say, as the ii :ard wat j entirely at tho mercy of the maikot, j but probably ktffwiu v£JO,OOO aud| .•£40,000, I
