POSTAL REFORM.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Being a traveller, and having to do correspondence with the southern part of the colony, I wish to draw your attention to a much-needed reform in postal matters. The s.s. Kotoiti . was advertised to leave the Breakwater at 10.30 this morning, and railway train, to connect, was advertised to leave at 10 o'clock. I noticed amongst Post Office notices that the southern mail per s.s. Botoiti closed at 8,30, two hours before the steamer was to leave. Having letters to answer which arrived by the express the previous night, and which I was only able to get at 9 o'clock ; this morning, I was unable to reply to same, and, there being no through train' to-morrow (Saturday), puts my firm to several days' delay in receiving my reply. I feel sure that the authorities that be only need their attention drawn to this matter for it to be remedied in the future.—l am, etc.,
