A SEASONABLE QUERY.
TO THE EDITOR, Sib,—Much ado is being made in connection with the sly grog business carried on in the King Country, on the ground that not only is the trade carried on in defiance of the law, but that the quality of the liquors supplied is of such fearfully bad quality that the usual evil effects of intoxicants is intensified to a considerable extent. I shall be glad if you will explain where these vile decoctions emanate from. Have we two sets of wholesale merchants—one to supply the good article to the duly licensed man, and one whose special forte it is to supply the sly ?—I am, etc., ' Solicitude.
