NEW ZEALAND CONTINGENTS.
CASUALTIES AT RIETVLEI. EIGHTEEN MEN MISSING. "Wellington, July 22, The Premier has received a cable from the High Commissioner reporting the following casualties among the Mounted Infantry at Rietvlei on the 16th July:—Severely wounded' Lieut. John Findlay (Temuka). Missing: Captain L. Bourne (Third Contingent, Timaru), Lieut. J. Cameron (Second Contingent, Wanganui), Sergeant A. McDonald (Hastings), Corporal T. G. A. Richardson (Hawke's Bay), Corporal L. M. Davis (Hawke's Bay), Privates A. Cone (Rangiora), C. E. Cross (Fairlie), R. Lloyd (Hawera), J, C. Hughes (Napier), J, Kennington (Marlborough), R. McCullock (Waipawa), W. McLennan (Ruanui, Wanganui district), A. Peterson (Napier), R. D. Smith (Waimate), H. T. Whit son (Hawke's Bay), J. Wright (Wanganui), J. T. Anderson and F. E. McKenzie, The Premier has received information that 160 of our men have been taken into the South African police service, and 100 men who went to Beira under Captain Major have passed into the regulars.
