A BARQUE IN A GALE.
(PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, May 28. The barque Royal Tar, from Kaipara to Melbourne, with timber, met a heavy north-east gale 221 miles west of Kaipara. All movables were washed overboard, and ' the'deck cargo shifted. There were 5 feet of water in the hold, and the deck cargo was jettisoned A steam-donkey pumped the vessel dry, but finding she was making more water than ordinarily, it was decided to put into Auckland, where the vessel 'arrived this afternoon.
