BESIEGERS EVIDENTLY TIRING. (Received 9, 9.25 a.m.) London, May 8. Ooionel Plumer has communicated with Mafeking by pigeon past, and is making endeavours to communi cat* with the southern relief column. Ooionel Baden-Powell reports, under data April 2Scb, that everything is quiet since the 25th, when the leader failed to induce the Boers to assault the town. There is some indication that the enemy's artillery has been withdrawn. GENERAL HUNTER'S FORCE. WHAT THE BOERS THINK. (Received 10,1.50 a.ra.) London, May 9. General Hunter's force includes General Paget's column and half of General Hart's brigade. The Boers report that General Hunter's objective is Yryburg.
