RAHOTU.
(prom our own correspondent.) The householders' meeting on Monday elected the following school committee forthe ensuing year: —Mrs. Dougherty, Messrs. Wright, Howell, Bleakley, Bradley, Colmerand Guy. The attendance was small. The year's report was good. The retiring committee worked with unbroken harmony and had received no complaints during the year. The same happy conditions prevailed also the year previous. Happy township ! A new road is being formed in the township. Mr. Langman's new residence is occupied; Mr. Guy's removed and enlarged, Mr. West, the wheelwright, is nearly doubling the area of his workshop. A shelter shed is to be built in the schoolgrounds, and so progress is merrily made. There is also to be a garden party on behalf of the Wesleyan Church Trust on May 24th. Should the weather prove unfavourable I hear it is wisely contemplated to make indoor provision for enjoyment of patrons. Probably a musical evening will form part of the programme. Your contemporary's correspondent reports a young men's Christian Association here. Several enquiries have reached us concerning this, as it is news to most of the residents. The young men in question must have hidden their lights under a bushel, so it seems.
