[l'Utt rnuss ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, April 9, The native schooner To Upokoemea, of Aitutaki Island, in the Cook Group, went aslioro at Aitutaki recently, while bound for Raro tonga with a cargo for transhipment to Auckland. No lives were lost, and the cargo was saved. The Nihotapu water supply scheme is recommended liy Mr. Mestayer, C.E., who also sugg. sts the consideration of the Mangatawhiri River source. Mr. Herries, M.H.R., has received a wire from Colonel Pole-Penton intimating that the Government sanctioned tbe exchange of the To Aroha Rifles into a mounted corps, Lord and Lady Ranfurly and daughters paid a hurried visit to Rotorua for the purpose of visiting the recentlyopened carved house at Whakarewarewa. They took their departure the same evening for Mamaku, the highest point of the Rotorua railway.
