[PUB PBHSS ASSOCIATION.] Received 31,10.5 a.m. Paris, March 30. A French expedition defeated the tribesmen at Twat, southern Algeria, killing six hundred, wounding a thousand, and capturing six hundred. They then occupied the Inghar oasis. The French losses were small. London, March 30. Briggs, the cricketer, has completely recovered from the illness with which he was seized during the recent Australian tour in England. Adelaide, March 31. A prospecting expedition, which left Coolgardie on 29th ult., has arrived at Oodnadatta. They lost two men, one named Norton, who was speared by the blacks, and an Afghan camel driver, who was shot while attempting the life of a member of the party. They lost nine camels and suffered great privations. Eeceived 1, 6 p.m. London, March 31. The resolutions passed at the National Liberal Federation meeting at Nottingham contained no reference to Home Rule, whereat the Nationalists are greatly irritated.
