STAR FOOTBALL CLUB.

Thb annual meetiDg of the Star Football Olub was held in the Drill Hall on Wednesday evening, about 50 being present. Mr. R. A. Gillespie occupied the chair, The balance* sheet and report were read and adopted, The report stated that the balancesheet showed a debit of 2s 6d, this being the first time the Olub ban commenced a new season with a debit balance. The teams were not very successful in their matches during the last season, but it was trusted they would retrieve their laurels during the ensuing season. "We have to refer, with sorrow, to the great loss sustained by the Olub through the sudden death of our late President, Oaptain Oapel. We desire to thank friends and supporters of the Olub for donations, and the Press for publicity given to all matters pertaining to football." The following officers were elected: —President, Mr. E, Dockrill; VicePresidents, Messrs. J. Arthur, J. Avery. H. Dempsey, Dr. Home, Dr. Leatham, P. Jury, L. M. Taunton, G. Tisch, and E. M. Smith* M.H.R. Mr. L. Allen was re-elected Captain, Mr. A. L. Humphries re-elected ViceCaptain, and Mr. 0. B. Lever re-elected Secretary and Treasurer. Mr. L. Allen was elected Senior Delegate, and Mr. F. Bellringer Junior Delegate to the Union, Management Committee:— Messrs. T. Callaghan, R. A. Gillespie, A. Humphries, J. 0. Morey, with President, Oaptain, and Secretary tx officio. Selection Committees: Seniors: K. A. Gillespie and A, L. Humphries. Ist Juciors: J. Elliot, V. George, F. Bellringer. 2nd Juniors: W. Davidson, W. Humphries, and A. Pearce. It was decided to hold the first practice on Thursday, sth April. Mr. J. Elliot donated a trophy to be won by the player who attends most practises.

Resolved, that the Secretary write to the Taranaki Rugby Union re annual meeting. A number of new members were elected, and a vote of thanks to the chair closed the meeting.
