ATTEMPTED MURDER.
A NATIVE ATTEMPTS TO KILL HIS j WIFE. [PEB PEESS ASSOCIATION.] Napieb, Much 12. A case of attempted murder is re ported from Omahu, near Hustings, JRopata, a native, assaulted his wife, Ariti Teui, from, whom he had been separated, with an axe, inflicting severe wounds on the arm and at the back of the head. Several natives interfered and secured Kopata, who was handed over to the police. The woman's depositions are bsing taken.
