BULLER HOLDS DRIFTS ACROSS THE TUGELA. (Received 2, 11.10 a.m.) Capetown, February 1. Goneral Buller holds the various Irifts across the Tugela River.
THE LOSSES AT SPION KOP. LANCASHIRE FUSILIERS LOST MOST. (Received 3,1.30 a m.) London, February 2. Two hundred and fifteen British are missing from Spion Kop, chiefly belonging to the Lancashire Fusiliers. General Buller's spabch on Monday has been confirmed. AN UNFORTUNATE MOVEMENT.
i London, February 2. Mr. Bennett Burleigh, tho war correspondent, states that the Boers were in the act of abandoning Spion Kop when the British retirement induced them to return. General Buller had detached a force to create a diversion the next day before hearing of the abandonment.
