[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, January 1. The Premier addressed the electors ■it Pabautanui iust night ia the interest of Mr Field, a candidate for the Ooaki seat. The speech was mainly on the lines of those delivered by him during the election. Speaking of the old age pensions, he tniid pensions for nine months of the financial year had been paid, and the Department still had i/118,000 to the good. As another instance of the prosperity of the colony he pointed out that when the income Gux wns first struck they received £OB,OOO. This year it would reach i;l2a,000, an increaso of 85 per cent. A. vote of thanks and ono of confidence in flie Government weie carried unanimously.
