Britain’s Buoyant Revenue Press Association—Copyright Rugby, May 20. Buoyant revenue is still a feature of the national accounts. Exchequer returns show that total ordinary revenue amounts to £79,195,039, compared with £73,042,534 at the corresponding date of last year. The yield of income tax is £11,569000, against £9,739,000 last year, and ■payments for estate duties at £ll,770,000 are over £1,000,000 up on a year ago. Receipts from Customs and excise are also higher by nearly £3,000,000. Total ordinary expenditure Is £102,914,058, compared with £103,879,376 at the corresponding date of 1936.
