Mrs J. Haselden, of Timaru, who has been on a tour of the North Island, visiting old friends, left Stratford this morning for the South. * * * Mrs E. S. Rutherfurd gave a small bridge party on Friday night for Mrs J. Haselden. * * * Mrs A. L. Morgan, entertained some friends at afternoon tea on’ Friday at her residence in Craig Street. The hostess was wearing a becoming floril georgette frock, and those present were: Mesdames G. Hall, S. Pitt. R. Masters, A. Coleman, L. Furrie, S. McGregor, F. Bodie, P. D. Jefferies and H. Heslopp. * * * There was a large gathering at the dance held in the Parish Hall on Thursday night under the auspices of the Church of England. Some of those present were: Mesdames Erickson, Johnson, Anstis, Bingham, Martin, Letts; the Misses Batten, Boyce, Uncles. Watson, Hand (2), Aldridge, Scott, Kirby, Brunsden, Crowe, Anstis, Irving, Stallard (2), Kelly (2), Burton, Brown, Donnelly, Bradshaw, Morgan, Lash, Coldwell, Letts, Melville, Eiger, Coward, Connor (3), White, Femmell. Kermode, Reader, Dwyer and Hathaway. The first Monte Carlo was won by Miss Burton and partner, and Mis 3 Melville and partner won the second.
