NELSON FARMERS' CO-OP., LTD.

There..was a very large attendance pf shareholders of the .Nelson.' Farmers' Co-operative, Ltd. held ,in Forester's' Hall on Tuesday, when matters of vital interest affecting the, future working of the company were, discussed. The principal business was to consider a proposal to amalgamate with the New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Association Ltd., of Christchurch. Messrs Ralph, general manager, and Jamicson, assistant manager, of the N.Z.F.C.A., were ♦ present, and addressed the meeting. After considerable discussion, a resolution was unanimously passed to amalgamate with the association on terms to be arranged at a, later date. An amendment was moved, but was not supported to any extent, that consideration of the proposal be postponed until an interim balance-sheet up to the end ol the month had been presented.

The basis of negotiations will, be submitted to a later meeting of the local" company for approval or otherwise.

Messrs Coltman, E. Savage, and Kait XOwen Junction), the three retiring directors, were re-elected. Mr Motfatt also had been nominated, but he withdrew his nomination. *
