HAVELOCK.

A farewell social was tendered to Miss Orsman. on Friday evening in the Sunday school by the parishioners of" St. Peter's Church. A very large gathering assembled to bid her God-speed in her new sphere of labour in the Christchurch Hospital. A very good musical J programme was rendered and the vicar! in a neat speech eulogised Miss Orsman's work in the church in various organisations belonging thereto, but especially as organist, and presented her with a gold wristlet watch, suitably inscribed from the parishioners of St. Peter's Church, Hayelock, and wished her God's blessing in her new sphere. The recipient then suitably returned her thanks. Mr W. H. Smith, chairman of the Town Board, and Mr E. J. Roche, president of the Musical Society, both spoke in terms of praise of Miss Orsman.
