POLLARD V. POLLARD,
Caroline .Hilda Pollard, sought a divorce from her husband, Harold Ambrose Pollard, painter, Nelson, on. the grounds of misconduct with Mabel Elizabeth Paltry, the wife of .a soldier. Mr J. P. Hayes appeared, for petitioner. 'Ihe stub was undefended. Petitioner stated in evidence that she was married to respondent at vVeUineton on^ December JjOth, 1910, and i;ad lived at Auckland, Redwood's Valley and Nelson. About the middle of December 1916, the co-respondent came to their place in Washington Valley and lived with them.for a year and three months. Ihere were two children of the marriage. On one occasion she caught her husband coming out of corespondent's room, and she related other suspicious circumstances in connection with their conduct. The co-respon-dent's husband was on the way to the front. t Witness also produced certain, letters written by respondent, to corespondent. She informed her husband of what she had seen and learned, and her husband said he intended to go on as he was and would not give up the co-respondent. Donald Stewart, step-father of the petitioner, gave evidence as to going to a house in Weka street where respondent and co-respondent were living, when co-respondent tried to push him out. He told respondent he ought to be ashamed of himself being there with another woman instead of being with his wife and family. Kespondent never explained his conduct. Recalled, petitioner stated that respondent never came back to her after the scene, ana! at the present time she was supporting herself and her family. • A decree nisi was granted, to be moved absolute in three months, ■ petitioner to have custody of the children. An order for costs.amounting to £15 was made against respondent.
