NELSON—TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2.
(Before Mr Justice Hosking.)
There was only one criminal case set down for hearing at the Supreme Court yesterday, viz., a charge of break- . ing and entering preferred against a girl named Dorothy Hazel Miller. The following was the Grand Jury:—■ l |Messrs W. J. Moffatt (foreman), A. H. ILeaper, H. H. Keilirig, James llobert r ton, P. C. Pettit, J. Baird, S. P. Bernd|.ston, W. Houlker, W. J. iNorgate, H. R. Dodson. H. Braddell. E. H. Robinson, W. T. JSrundell, J. Tait, T. H. Holland, W. A. Itonghton, B. Trathen, 11. Catley, S:C. H. Chamberlain, A. Brown, (J. |Milner, It. Louiysson/ and F. H. Bethwaite. Addressing the Grand Jury, His Honour said they had the good fortune to have only a little business to take charge of. There was only one1 case for consideration, and it did not involve anything of a difficult character. The JNelson and Blenheim circuits seemed to be singularly free from serious crime, which was a marked contrast to what was found in the more populous cities in the North Island. He hoped that this state of affairs would continue. His Honour then referred to the •circumstances of the charge preferred against the accused and said it«was for the jury to consider whether accused went on the premises with intent to commit a crime or not. If they were satisfied that she did they should' bring, in a true bill.
