Wellington, Dec. 20. i An inquest was nold to-aay into the death of Uonstanoo juawton, wlio was killed in Cu'ua street, on liiursday afternoon by being run uvor by a JJeienco Department uiotur lorry. The father or wio atx-eased said the
child had good neaiui turn eyesight, but suffered from an attack of infantile paralysis about seven years ago, and had since been nervous and a little
shaky. Witness had left his wife and children only a tew minutes before the accident occurred. Joshua Tunibull, who was driving the Army Service Corps motor lorry which xan ov6r the deceased, said tiiat appar-
ently the child nad .not seen the lorry, and the little u'isLunoe tau deceased was from the lorry wiieii she stepped oif the pavement on to the street made it impossible to avoid the accident. He had done all that was possible under the circumstances, and iie expressed tho opinion that the child might have cleared the vehicle had she not hesitated. The Coroner returned a verdict of accidental death, completely exonerating the driver from ail blame.
