All shipments of new season's fruit are meeting with an excellent reception, and immediate consignments are ■strongly recommended. Cafifornian apples arrived during tho week, Jonathans realising 27s and other varieties 25s to 265.
Cherries are in fair supply, and a strong demand exists. Further shipments of Australian cherries will not be available, owing to the strike. Thus heavier consignments are recommended for this market. New Zealandgrown choico in 281b crates 33s to 355, thers 25s to 30s, 161b boxes Napoleon 22s to 235, May Duke 23s to 255, St. Margaret 22s to 235, Orleans 12s to 12s 6d, Twyford 22s to 245, Monarch 20s to 235. A small shipment of cherries came forward from Central Otago during the week, but unfortunately their condition was unsatisfactory. Further' quantities from that centre are not expected. Apples: New Zealand Stunner of \ choice quality have improved in value, realisations being 16s to 19s for choice, firm samples, with prices for other i qualities in proportion. j Apricots : Nolson a.nd Motueka choice | large 20a to 21s 6d per hali-case, others , according to sample 8s to 15s per half-1 case, Thames extra choice 18s to 20s, others 8s to 12s per half-case, Hawke's Bay 14s to 20s according to size. i'iunia: Choice large Early Bronze according to ripeness 8s to 10s, choice dessert Wright*s Early and JSvans' Early according to sample 10s to 12s pai' halt-ease. Cherry plums ripe 8s to 10s, small or green 4s tkl to 7s 6d per half-case. Peaches: Choice Hawke's Bay crates 15s to 17s, half cases choice largo 12s to 13s 6d, others according to sample 8s to 10s, small 4s 6d to 5s 6d. Gooseberries: Choice large 6s Gd tv 7s (3d per half-case, small 4s 6d to os 6d.
Tomatoes: Nelson colouring 26s to 28s, ripo 20s to 25a. Increased shipments are strongly recommended. Passionfruit: i\ew Zealand 9s to 10s per halfi-case. Red currants 9s to 10s. Black currants (in increased supply) 10s to 11s Raspberries (keen inquiry): vvell filled buckets 11s to 13s. Green peas: Prime Is 6d to Is 9a per peck, others Id to Is 4d according to sample. New Potatoes: Prime Auckland 14s to 15s per cwt, Otaki 13s to 14s. There is a keen demand for poultry, and immediate marketing is recommended.
