PRESENTATION TO MR A. CRAWFORD.

FROM WEST COAST TEACHERS. Mr A. Crawford/Inspector of Schools, who has been transferred to Wanganui, was, prior to his departure, the recipient of a presentation from the Buller^anci Inangahua branches of the N.Z.E.1., which was accompanied by the followin cr letter, dated Westport, July oth.:— "We the teachers of Buller and Inangahua,'desire on the occasion of your departure from our district to express the sincerest and deepest regret, born oi keenest appreciation and respect, lour sterling qualities as a man and an inspector have endeared you to all. W c have learnt to regard you as a personal friend. We have welcomed you in your visits as we would our best friend, and we received the announcement of your removal to Wanganui with the deepest sorrow. We would have preferred to make a personal farewell, but r tS thf.fc is impossible we would extend to you our heartiest congratulations on your ..welldeserved promition, and assure you of our closest interest in your future welfare. We beg your acceptance of the accompanying purse, and would ask you to buy some article which we trust you will regard as a tangible token of our esteem and good-will.—(Signed on behalf of Buller and Inangahua teachers) A.
