MEMORY OF GREAT LIBERAL LEADER.

Wellington, June 10. ."To perpetuate tho memory of the" late-Right Hon. R. J. Seddon, Imperialist and patriot, as a token from yoitng New Zealand, I.oth June, 1919.". This, inscription, attached to a largo laurel wreath, was placed on Mr Seddon's statue in Parliament grounds this morning, as a tribute of respect to the memory of the Liberal leader. It has been the custom of young New ZeaLanders whose parents were closely associated with the late Mr Seddon to celebrate each anniversary of his death by a ceremony of reverence, and on this occasion, the thirteenth anniversary, the Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald, Minister of Agriculture, officiated. The family was well represented, while there was a large attendance pf friends. Following this ceremony, the assemblage proceeded to the Sydney Street Cemetery, where a crgss of white roses, violets and other floral tributes was placed on the vault, which was opened for the occasion. The.following cable message has been sent to Mrs Seddon, care of the High Commissioner, London: "Our hearts go out to you and yours this day.—Seddon Memorial Day Committee."
