London, April 3. An amusing story has been reported to an American naval court-martial. j Captain Chamberlain was charged with fabricating reports of his aerial exploits whilst on an unofficial visit to a British squadron. v • j The charges arose owing to unsuccess-i ful efforts to confirm his remarkable statements in order to recommend Chamberlain for an honouri Chamberlain told the newspapers a graphic story of his exploits,- in which he said he bombed and blewxup a train, engaged in a dog fignt. with two other Allies against twelve German aeroplanes, brought down seven of the latter, machine-gunned and scattered a body of enemy troops, landed in a fire-swept wheat field, and bluffed'three Germans while pretending to adjust the compass on hisjnachine. He toolc one prisoner and the "others fled. He also rescued a French colonial soldier and dragged him to the French lines. Chamberlain's defence will be heard in i Paris.
