Sir Alfred Yarrow predicts that o-#----ing to limitation of output the British, yards, will steadily lose their supremacy to America, which is bound to become the 'greatest shipbuilder in tiio •world. Japanese shipbuilders are extremely active, and, aided by.cheap labour, are now scouring South America with a view to monopolising orders. He said Yarrows would gladly pay higher wages at Vancouver because of the doubled output.
