SILVER JUBILEE OF WAKEFIELD DRUIDS.

(From "The Colonist," Sept. 25th.) .The- twenty-fifth anniversary of the lrafalgar Lodge of Druids was celebrated at Wakefield on Saturday the 21st mstant. The large attendance was augmented by a party from the Maitai Lodge, Nelson-, and included a number of brethren who were instrumental in forming and were present at the opening of the Trafalgar Lodge. The North Island Grand Lodge was represented DP Bro. L. M. Estcourt. A.I). Bro. Taylor occupied tke chair, and in his opening remarks tendered the visiting brethren a very hearty welcome. After tke toast of +'The King" had been honoured, P.S. Bro. W. F Ihomson, of Maitai .Lodge, proposed the health of Trafalgar Locfge, and referred to the events which led up to the formation of the lodge at Wakefield. He was followed by P.D.P. Bro. C. Haggitt, whose reminiscences of the early history of the lodge were very interest i?S- In referring to the pioneers of Drmdism in the district, some of whom had gone to their long rest, he told how tneir untiring efforts, although many stoppages occurred on the way, resulted in the formation of this branch of the Order, 27 members 'being initiated at the opening ceremony. P.D.P. Bro D Burn, the Father of Dniidsm in Wakeiield, responded, and briefly traced the history of the lodge up to the present *ime. The other toasts honoured were ,/k® Maitai Lodge," proposed by f I}-,}\ Bro- D- 13urn and responded to by P.DP. Bro. C. Hagcvitt, and "Absent Members," proposed by D.P. Bvo L. M. Estcourt.
