(Received Sept. 16, 8 p.m.) London, Sept. 15. The Air Ministry reports.:— . . On the battlefront, in addition to the bombing reported in yesterday's communique, we carried out the following operations:— " We twice attacked Metz-Sablons, obtaining many direct hits on the railway I triangle, workshops, gasworks and barracks. ' Wo also attacked Boulay aerodrome with good results on Saturday night. ! We kept up all night heavy attacks on Metz-Sablons, Courcelles, Ehranga, ' Saarbrucken, ICaiserslautern, and aerodromes at Frescaty and Boulay, and obtained many direct hits on the raili way, especially at .Metz Sablons and Coucelles. We. caused several fires at i Metz, Kaiser slautern, Saarbrucken, and Frescaty aerodrome. Thre© British machines did not return. On Saturday morning we again attacked the Metz-Sablons railway triangle, an<! scored many direct hits--. Enemy scouts were active.

A French communique states: i Fine weather on Saturday permitted of considerable, aerial activity, and there were very numerous severe fights, in which fourteen enemy machines were brought down and seven balloons were set on fire. Enemy troops were aerially machine gunned, and .six and a half tons or bombs were dropped on enemy assemblages. I Over 23 tons of bombs were dropped at night time at the railway stations at Laon and Conflans.
