WAKEFIEL.
A very successful enchre, tournament was held in the Oddfellows' Hall at Wakefield k';t "Wednesday in aid of tho Daffodil Queen candidates, 120 players taking part. Tiie jiontlomen',B first prize was won by M-r W. Dousrias, and the .ladies by Miss Thomas. The "booby prizes were won by Mr C. Denton and Mrs Gilbert. „ During tho evening several songs were rendered by' Mr Martin. Supper was provided by the ladies, and a ■dance followed. .The.'National Anthem brought tho tournament to "a close.

<, A meeting of the General Committee *Ij ■ I)affoc^ 1 Queea Carnival--win be held in. tlie City Council- room to-night at 7.30. As it is intended to make arrangements for the Daffodil Day celebrations, and also to complete arranaements for the Bulb Show and the stalls m connection therewith, it is hoped that there will be a full attendance of all members of the committee and of any othors willing to assist.
