Girls' Day, ..organised by the banks^ professions, and shipping in aid of their queen candidate, took place on Saturday in perfect weather. \ Stalls were placed in Trafalgar street for the sak» of flowers, sweets, produce, etc., and there, was a tea kiosk at the Bank of New Zealand. A novelty was introduced in the shape of girl shoeblacks, who posted-themselves afc the principal corners, and did good business.
