GERMAN PURCHASES FROM

NEUTRALS.

FRENCH WRITER'S DEMAND.

(Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association)

} Paris, May 8. M. Jean Herbette, writing in the "Echo de Paris," insists on the urgent necessity for tightening the blockade, quoting statistics from a confidential report showing enormous increases of exports of foodstuffs from Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark and Holland to Germany in 1916, compared with 1913.
