SUFFERINGS OF SAILORS

A message from Madrid states that the survivors of the Spanish ship Tom, 2413 tons,, tell a shocking story. When the ship was torpedoed, they had time, only to_ throw themselves into the sea. A British, stoamer axid some fishing smacks picked up the survivors after they had been swimming for nearly an hour. Seventeen were drowned.
