"PRINCE OF VICTORY."

CROWN PRINCE ANJ^ KAISER,

London, April 23

Pan-Germans, headed by Count yon Reventlow, backed by the Crown Prince, whom they call* the "Prince of "Victory," are fiercely asasiling the Government's attempts to make peace with Russia^ fearing ttat the elimination of the Russian danger would weaken the war spirit and lead to peace without victory. The Pan-Ger-mans' programme is still "Victory or downfall." . In an attack on the Government for harbouring two American correspondents in Berlin in the hope of making peace with America, Count yon Revent-' low writes in the "Deutsche Tagoszeitung": "A status quo peace without indemnity would mean the ruin of Germany and Austro-Hungary. Thank Heaven the efforts to obtain peace with Russia are subsiding." Pan-Germans have bought a syndicate of newspapers in order to adver- ' tise the Crown Prince, while attacking the Kaiser. Various reports1 assert that the Kaiser and the Crown Prince are not speaking. It is noteworthy that the Kaiser omitted reference to tho Crown Prince in a telegram of con-, gratulation to the troops in Champagne.
